Question Front Wheel Noise 4X4 New Truck

2016 Ram Longhorn 2500 4X4 ***, 650 miles. Noticed a variable scraping/squeaking/slight clunking sound, at slow speed in town or driveway. RF only, in 2WD. Variable with wheel turn. Sounds like something loose. Could a driveway stone have gotten thrown in? I'm no mechanic. I'm a little concerned about driving 70 miles for a warranty look. Thanks.

If the closest RAM dealer is 70 miles away then do that, otherwise go to a closer dealership.

I doubt seriously that the wheel on a new truck will fall off while driving, and if does feel like it will, then get the dealer to tow it in citing your safety driving as a concern. Another option is to get a local tire shop to pull the tire and look at the wheel and advise, but it will cost you a few bucks to do this. That might keep you from having to waste a day driving 140 miles round trip for something really minor.

Hi powerstroke99,
If you decide to take your vehicle in to the dealer for diagnosis, feel free to reach out if you need assistance in scheduling an appointment or following up.
