My transmission lost reverse. I have 5100 miles on it.
Has any one else had this problem.

It is at the dealer ship and they put new reverse clutches in it and when they had it apart they said the transmission oil smelled burnt and there were a lot of metal shaving in the pan.
They were able to get it to go in reverse but now there is no forward gears.
Now they want to replace a shaft and bearings.

Does this sound like the correct method for Doge to repair this problem?

It's under warranty, so let them repair it however they want to.
