Angry 2010 Ram 1500 TIPM Issues

started 4 months ago and have replaced fuel pump twice, the third tie truck started after 2 days sitting, its been 2 1/2 months and happened again, just cranks over, believe its a TIPM problem, all re builders dont do a 2009 or 2019 Ram 1500, cant buy one to hard to get and long wait time, found one from a auto recycler put it in, same thing just cranks over, I asked dealership if it has to be reprogrammed/reflashed one said yes might work other one says no since its a used one cant be done, has to be some resolution out there, cost of these parts, towing, and car rental are starting to hurt, anyone else been thru this and have a fix or possible solution?

Can someone provide the wiring diagram for the TIPM on a 2009...?? I have been looking for this info everywhere and all that I can find is for 2011 and up and I know there is a different TIPM for those years. I need to do the external bypass for the fuel pump circuit.

Thanks in advance.

Luis,

I had this issue on my 2011 RAM 1500. At first the fuel pump never shut off, so my battery would always be dead. Eventually it stopped turning on, and id have to crank and crank for ten minutes before it would for some reason come back on and start. Eventually it just never started again. Suspecting the fuel pump I googled the and found the tipm fuel pump relay kit and figured it would be cheaper than a new fuel pump or tipm, and ended up just buying two fusible links from autozone and making my own. I think i got the slots wrong because the pump would always stay on, so i added a switch in the cab. All in all cost me about ten dollars if I remember correctly. I couldn't swing a new tipm or justify 300 dollars when I could spend ten.
In conclusion I never ever had issues with the fuel pump for the next 80k miles I put on the truck ( until somebody totaled it ).
Definitely google it , you don't have to be an expert to put together this fix and there's lots of info available on google and youtube.

edit: second post and I already necro'd a thread. sorry. xD.

Problem is 2009 and 2010 are diferent TIPM's and they cant be bypassed with the jumpers on top of the TIPM. If you run into this problem on the 09's and 2010's you need to hard wire a relay into the circuit and you need to know which wires to cut

I already got mine running. When I finally got the time to trubleshoot it turns out that the fuel pump was gone, but I would like to find out that info before getting stuck out in the road by that piece of crap.

On the 2011 and up the fuse is wired after the relay and that gives you the opportunity to jumper them out, but on the 09 and 2010 the fuse is before the relay and if the relay gets stuck in the open position there is nothing you can do to jump it out.

Have a good one.

I found the dark blue with orange stripe and the pink with light green stripe, I just can’t figure out what brown wire is the one to cut, also I read the pink with light green wasn’t supposed to be cut and I cut it on accident so I’m not sure if that will affect anything, please if you could help me with this issue and thank you

Default 2010 Dodge 3500 diesel 7 pin issue

, I have owned this truck since new, never had a problem with it that money won’t fix! Though I prefer to fix it myself if it is within my somewhat limited skill set!
the problem I have is the left turn signal/brake connection for a trailer. There is no power in the 7 pin (9 o’clock position) Right turn works just fine. Fuses seems to ok in the TIPM. I started troubleshooting at the TIPM by lifting it out as far as it would easily go. Didn’t see anything appear as a problem! So I put it back into place , turned on the left signal and checked the connection with my tester again. Now it had power and was blinking! Aah! I thought I had fixed it,( big pat on the back)
WRONG! After taking the truck for drive, left signal pin had no power! So I repeated the procedure and lifted the TIPM out again and put it back. Now I had power again at 7 pin, after a quick drive , NO Power again !!!
anyone have suggestions?
