Default Work in progress

I drive a 02 SXT Neon. It remains stock and i've had it about three years now and it runs real good but had its share of problems.

I did have the misfortune of suffering a catastrophic failure of the transmission... The drive bar linking the transmission to my right tire snapped in two and sent the car off the interstate and (fortunately) on to an offramp where I get it to a stop. Plus the whole transmission was fried. I wasn't running it hard either... I wonder if this is a manufacturer's defect. If so, my trust in Mopar is shaken. It's also got a wiring issue with the seatbelt warning light, and the fog lamp likes to flicker on and off a couple times every now and then when the switch on the stalk is in the "off" position. I think this is a wiring issue. I'll get in the dash later and try to sort it out. Also found it extremely difficult to rout the power wire to my 580 watt Dual amp...

Anyway, aside from that, and my mom bashing the front end into a deer about 4 years ago (I have yet to fix this since you couldn't tell if it was damage aside from a small crease in the hood that has begun to rust) it never had a problem.

I've been in the process of building the car into a sleeper. It's got an exhaust, of course, and I put a cold air on it. Both have increased power and I've been racing lately against these import freaks who want to race just because they have an airplane wing for a spoiler and NOS stickers all over their windows. I don't need to mention their exhausts that sound like an angry bumblebee on crack...

I'm on the lookout for a SRT-4 motor, with transmission, chip, wiring harnesses, all the necessary parts to install it right out of the box and roar down the road. I'd like to get one that's in reasonable condition for under $750. My budget is limited.

I'm also redoing the paint, rebuffing, restoring, and adding a clearcoat to give a nice mirror finish. I'm also looking for an ALUMINUM hood for it... mine's made of steel (hence the rust), I think they all are.

So, read about it, comment on it, know that it is still pretty much "stock" and can best most cars on the roads. I was playing with a 05 Mustang a couple hours ago... hehe poor gut couldn't keep up. (111mph speed limiter program on their computer chips)

So... Be safe, be cool and most impotantly, ROCK ON!!
