Default New to Dodge . . . advice?

Hi! We've just put a deposit down on a 2009 Journey 2.4SE & hope to get some honest opinions from you guys. I've had a quick look through some of the threads on here about general problems but wondered if you would recommend the 2009 model or not?

I am sure you'll find any number of owners that have
had a reasonable experience with '09 built DJs on here.
If you have followed the threads you will see the majority
of concerns focus on braking components with a smattering
of cosmetic/styling questions.
Only you have seen the DJ in question, have it checked out by
a reliable mechanic then it comes down to personal choice.

Our 09 has been pretty much a very reliable vehicle. Make sure it has the door switch recall work done. Also, the brakes are weak. I had the front rotors/pads replaced by the dealer at 15k and they warped again at 20k. I ended up replacing them myself with quality aftermarket rotors and now have close to 80k on the clock and no brake issues. We did have to have some kind of valve replaced in the intake a month or so ago, but it was done under our extended warranty. I read it's a common problem with the 2.4L across the product line (it's an engine problem, not a Journey problem). Otherwise, I have no complaints other than the less than stellar gas mileage (you would expect more that 18 avg. for a 4 cylinder).
