What size wheels can I get for my RT?
 

I am looking to upgrade my wheels on my Magnum. I found some wheels for my car and I wanted to know what are the limitations for the car stock, and also when is someone coming out with something to stiffen this car up?

We have a few running around with 22's. You have trim the upper ball joint stud to fit the tires, thet look really nice.

22's are the max. The ball joint will only have to be stripped if you go with a rim that is smaller than 8.5 wide. That rim must also have a 35 series tire on it because a higher series will rub.

I think that you should go for the maximum, go with 36" wheels.


LOL, just kidding - don't understand you people, the stock 18" are fine for me.

Search for a few pictures on the net or on this forum of Magnum having either 20s or 22s and decide which one you like the most. Bigger is not always better.

Advantages of getting bigger wheels: improved look and road handling because of the lower height ratio of the tire (you need to keep the same overall diameter of the stock wheel + tire, otherwise you will screw up your speedo and mileage...that means having a lower sidewall tire with bigger wheels).

Disadvantages: loss of performance due to increased unsprung weight of the wheels and harsher ride.

Personally, I believe 20s is the size to go on the Magnum. But that's just me.
