Default I'm dumping the Magnum

We'll sort of. It is more of an upgrade in my opinion than a "dumping." I have decided to sell my "baby" to position myself to purchase a 300C SRT-8 when they become available (next month hopefully). I love this car but just have to have that new SRT. Anyone who is interested in seeing the listing it can be viewed here.

Anyone willing to make a compelling argument to bring me back to my senses? I have enjoyed being a participant in this forum and would love to see someone from this group get it and enjoy it as I have. The reserve price is 27K.

Let me know if you think I have lost my mind here but I think I have caught the SRT-8 fever (BTW, I am going for the Chrysler intead of waiting for the Magnum variant if it comes out because I rarely if ever use the hatch).

I just recently took delivery on my Magnum RT. This was after the SRT announcements so I had to give it some thought. I decided to go agead and take the car for the following reasons.
1. I didn't want to wait again.
2. I didn't want to put up with paying MSRP or more
3. I am only a good port job and cam from a 425 HP car now for less cash?

On the SRT8 side:
1. You get an SRT8.
2. Bigger brakes, better suspension, Stronger engine with more displacement and power.
3. Resale is likely to be stronger down the road.

You've got me there. I would love one of those but that brings me to a pet peeve of mine with DCX. Show me what it will have in it (a stick would be most attractive) and give me a month when you think it will arrive! Rumors and auto show hype are great but they don't help those of us in the enthusiast world who are trying to plan for and evaluate their next purchase.

I don't know if you need it but you can't get the SRT-8 with the navigation system. Well not as a factory option anyway.

See what I mean? I had no idea that was the case because I can't find any information from DCX that gives really detailed specs for the car or a date for availability. I was over at the dealership again today and still no information. I'm half considering going way overboard and buying the Cadillac CTS-V. At least I could get it now and mod it to my heart's content!!

Thanks for the information.

I got the info from my press kit on the Magnum SRT-8. But who knows, they might change a thing or 2 before production starts up in March-April.

I'm all for the 300 SRT/8. But I need the hatch a few times a year.
I'm curious if you can get one, and at what pice though.
Good luck to you.

It looks to me like you would have better luck selling the car with the stock intake on exhaust on the car.
Then sell those two things later or to the guy who buys your car.

I noticed on your post that you and I have some things in common. I own a 05 Magnes Magnum RT, a 94 Impala SS, and a restored numbers matching 69 GTX. I guess we like the same kind of rides. MIKE msggtx@aol.com

Talk you out of an SRT?!? Only if someone beat me over the head with a Stupid Stick... I don't know about the 300, I personally would wait for the Magnum SRT-8. However, if money was not an issue, which it is, I would MOD mine out, order the Magnum SRT-8, then swap out when the new car arrives, or hell, if money wasn't an issue, keep them both, let the wife have the slower of the two....
