Who has Put their Magnum on the Dyno?

To all Points of Wisdom,
I want to take my Magnum to the Dyno shop and get some base line numbers.
The thing that irritates the hell out of me is it looks like I will only get numbers from somewhere over 4000 rpm and up.
This NON-Autostick transmission will down shift no matter what gear your in. (Autostick my A$$)
Are there any Dealer diagnostic settings or tricks that can keep the trans from downshifting out of 4th, or at lest move the shift point down a couple hundred rpm?
Has anyone done a dyno run and that can tell at what rpm teh trans will NOT down shift?
If there is no way to get the transmission to stay in 4th I don’t know if a dyno is worth doing.

Why does it make a difference make what gear it's in when doing a dyno run? Can't you start at stop, run through the gears like normal, and just have the dyno start picking up at 4000? Why does the dyno not pick anything up under 4000?

MagnumSXT,
I don't know why but every Dyno shop I talked to says the transmission has to be in a 1:1 ratio. In our case 4th gear. I too wonder why they can't run the car in 1st gear and calculate the mechanical advantage of the gearing out of the results. That has to happen for the rear gearing anyway.

4000rpm is not a limit of the dyno. This is the lowest RPM that you can floor the pedal and the trans want downshift.
Actually it is probably around 3800 rpm. That is one of the things I am trying to find out.

maneval69 and to whom this may concern, if you try to dyno in 1st you will end up with #'s that will blow your mind and not accurate. that is why your dyno guy told you that you had to be in a 1:1 ratio or youll end up with 500 pounds of torque, well im not so sure about the 500 pounds of torque that no stock magnum makes, but i hope you get the idea.

Viperracing,
When we Dyno these cars in third gear we are getting inflated horsepower and torque numbers.
Is this true?

By the way here is an image of the dyno runs.
the blue run was made after unhooking the airbox. This made a big difference.

Note the air/fuel is rich.
