Default Thinking about buying a Magnum? Need some high-insight

Tell my everything you all don't like about the Magnum!!!
Ok, I really like the Magnum. I've been on two test drives now and love the car. I will be using this as a daily driver so drove it to and from work while I had it and got 26mpg there and 24.3mpg on the return trip ( had to gun it on the on the on ramp! 100MPH is easy to get to). That's goning 68-70 with the cruise. I would be interested in an 05 with about 20-30K miles , Black, R/T, DVD/NAV
Thank you al for your input here!

Go for it. I have had mine since 5/04, have 25,000 miles with no problems.
Done lots of mods and more on the list. Great car.

Any of the things I don't like are little things, some that have been fixed on newer ones, no flat folding passenger seats (06 and up can get them), no glove box light, front cup holders are different sizes and the drivers one is to small for most drinks (new ones have different same sized ones), continental tires are total junk (new ones come with goodyears), no black interiors avaliable, all grays and beiges, overall I love the car though, those are mostly minor things.

Hello,
Well the the only things that comes to mind are,
1. The location & function buttons of the cruise control arm. I think it would be tough to operate it at night . But I'm rarely on the highway.
2. Back-up assist should be STANDARD. I just know my wife will be coming home soon with some rear bumper scratches.
3. No glovebox light. I think that's cheap when a co. doesn't install it.
4. No LED brake lights or turn signals...It seems to appear that all car companies are installing them on their cars.(high end models)

Good Luck!

The 05's have gas struts on the hood to keep it open, the 06's do not - you have to use a prop rod.

The 05's have a longer warranty than the 06's.

No glove box light................easy to put one in.

No underhood light...............easy to put one in.

No dipstick to check trans fluid, have to go to dealer for that.(need special tool)

RT's take 6.5 quarts of oil, must use 5W20 oil.

No inside release for rear hatch, in case you were to get stuck back there in an accident.

No automatic realease for parking brake, when you put car in drive.

Hard to see overhead traffic lights if you are first car at stop light, due to roof overhang.

Hard to use ATM's or drive up windows, due to low roof line, have to stick your head out side window for added room.

Do i like my RT? Darn right I do................especially the Hemi engine.

How do you get stuck in the back of a station wagon? you can just climb into the back seat, reminds me of the family guy where peter locks himself in his car and trying to get people outside to open the door, lol.

I go along with all that MagnumRT has stated.
The rear hatch is a safety thing.
I have an 06 and really like driving it. There are large blind spoys that just take some getting ustedto.
I don't trust the cars gas mileage readout that much. I have also found around town I'm getting 14 and at 65-70 on interstate 19. With 89 octain gas.
Allthe little things are live with and really enjoy driving it.
Good luck

What don't I like:

I'd like a bigger gas tank; The original tires are pretty crappy but I've gotten 31,000 miles out of mine. The tire size is also weird. The rim size is also limiting for aftermarket rims. The back end of the car does get dirty fast. The passenger seat should have power reclining; Glove box light.

The Hemi makes those things renders then insignificant. Buy it

Add dim digital gauges in sunlight
cheesy dangly gas cap
no locking gas cap door
no auto opening trunk hatch
no 3rd row seat option
miserable 3 channel equalizer - tone controls
hard to use horn button
no auto up/down option on all windows -05
no rear fog lights - sorry thought it was a BMW
no headlamp washers - sorry thought it was a Mercedes
no memory seat option - sorry thought it was a Lexus
no "off and stays off" button for the auto dimming mirror
can't set heated seats to on with remote start
can't turn remote start horn off
no low tire pressure warning - 05
no auto fan-to-high with tailgate ajar
and the big one - lots of orange peel all over

huh...my R/T takes 7 qrts of oil..

Geez, some of you guys expect alot for a 30k car....
I have alot of those "wanted" items on my wife's '05 Suburban, but the damn thing cost 54k too....

Over all I think the Magnum is a great value for the money
