Problem with hard starting....
Hey guys.. i am having a problem with my car everytime i start it after being off overnight or being off for a few hours. When i go to turn the magnum on--it has a hard start. Almost doesnt want to turn on. It seems like it is chocking or something. I took it to the dealer and he told me it was the battery. He installed/replaced my battery. And the next day.... same problem.
What you guys think it could be. i was thinking it might have something to do with the gas? i use 89 octane. Should i be using 93 ? does anyone have/had a similar problem or can offer some information.
thank you

RE: Problem with hard starting....
I use 89 in mine. I believe that's what the manual recommends. I don't have any problems with start up.
When you say "hard start" do you mean to say that it has a hard time turning over and starting up?

RE: Problem with hard starting....
yes---it seems like it wants to like turn off. like it chokes itself.

I am having the same problem. I will take my car to the dealer on monday. I wonder if it could be the 10% Ethanol that they put in the gas.

RE: Problem with hard starting....
I went to the dealer and they didn't find anything wrong with the car.

RE: Problem with hard starting....
I had the same issue , then the morning I was to scheduled to go to the dealer the check engine light came on and stayed on. I got a code 0300 , whish is for random misfire. Went to the dealer and all has been fine until this morning (1 week later). It did it again , and another code 0300. So once again I will take it to the dealer and have them look into it. I spent way too much money for this kind of nonsense.

I will post back if they find anything, though it may be a while.

RE: Problem with hard starting....
According to Brian from Dodge Service in my area , the 3.5L sometimes has issues with 87 octane fuel. He suggested I try running the 89 octane and see if it happens again. So that's what I am doing now. Will let you all know if that helps at all.

EDIT: 10/06/2006
So far I have experienced no hard starting (crosses fingers and knocks on wood). Seems switching to a higher grade of fuel did the trick. If any problems arrise in the future I will post here.
