Magnum R/T AWD availability

Winter home and snowy mountain roads caused wife to insist that the new R/T be AWD. Not a bad consession in that she thinks all vehicles should have four cylinder engines. Patiently waiting, with cash in hand, does anyone have sound information when the AWD will be in the showrooms? Everything I read, and hear from the dealer, ranges from early fall to next spring. The sooner the better as she really likes the Volvo Wagons.

RE: Magnum R/T AWD availability

My information is very unofficial, but we ordered an RT last evening and the owner of the dealership said that he was expecting pricing on the AWD soon, in about a week. The RT AWD option is rumored to be about $2K, and the STX about $3200 because it also includes wheel, brake, and transmission uppgrades. We did not order AWD after talking to people who have driven the RWD on intentionally slippery surfaces. If you talk to your dealer, they probably attended these soapy pavement demonstrations. The weight distribution of the car and the traction control make it very different from the RWD cars we grew up with.
