Magnum RT Gas Mileage

I was just curious what everyone thought of the gas mileage on the RT. Is the milage as good as Dodge says? Do you think this MDS system really saves gas?

Hoping to get my Blue RT next week!!!!!

I am happy with the MDS system so far. It is completely transparent and seems to give very good fuel economy as long as you keep your foot out of it. On flat highways, I am getting 25mpg at about 75mph. Hilly stretches are a different matter because when you need the power to climb MDS disengages and you don't see the benefit. In city situations or while screwing around with the car (and trust me, you will find it hard not to drive this car hard - that's want it was built for) the gas mileage is just what you would expect. The bottom line is that if you want good gas mileage, buy a hybrid. If you want something that is an absolute blast to drive, has real-world function and gets RESPECTABLE gas mileage, this is the choice for you.

Enjoy your new Magnum!

Last tank of gas I got 20 mpg and that was a combo of city and highway driveing. Also from time to time opeing it up for some fun.

I'm getting 16.9 MPG out of mine, and I have 1500 miles on it so far. Of course, I like to goose it now and then... God this car is fun.

I'm dying to get some mod kits on the market. I really want a Borla exhaust, chip and perhaps even a blower. I just want to keep everything under the hood. I also REALLY want some 20" wheels. Anyone have any ideas?

I've spent way too much time looking for rims that fit that bolt pattern. I'm waiting for the wheel market to catch up to the popularity of the Magnum.

I started out with pretty poor mileage compared to what was published by Dodge. However, after 3 weeks and a couple tanks (or so), the mileage is greatly improved and maybe just a tick below 17/25.

if ur looking for wheels check out this site www.superbuytire.com
click browse by vehicle. this site is a good indicator of whats available.
of course 2005 dodge magnum is not even posted yet.
however, mags have the same fitment/offset requirements as the 2005 chryser 300C.
so choose the 300C option then select your wheel size.
get ready to spend a few minutes looking at all the wheels that will fit.
shop around for prices. this site is a good indicator of the market retail price.
i advise you to shop around and do some wheelin and dealin.
also, if u see a wheel that doesnt fit (i.e. you browse in general) chances are they will be available soon.
it seems "3 weeks" and they will be out.
then again who knows...good luck!
