Neon Transmission dipstick not showing level
Hi...
The other day, when I went to engage my neon in "drive", it hesitated. So, I looked it up and saw that the fluid might be low. So I put about a quart in, and this morning I did the same thing with NO hesitation......BUT when I went to check the dipstick, the level wasn't showing, so (because I know NOT to overfill), I added the rest of the quart from the previous day. Was that the right thing to do? And when the level doesn't show, what does that mean, exactly? (I did have the engine running when I read the stick level).... Thanks. |
Was the transmission warmed up? In neutral? Add more to bring the level up to where it needs to be and then find out why it was low.

Re : Neon Transmission dipstick not showing level
hi....yes, it was in neutral, and the level wasn't showing. I added the rest of the quart
that I started adding yesterday. I know it's not good to over-fill, as I only DID add one quart. Is it better to under-fill than over-fill? Thanks, in advance. |
It's better to fill it to the proper level.
