Think these'll break? SWAY BAR MOUNT
Finally, here's pictures of my sway bar mounts. Made from angle iron and barstock. Compare to original in the pics. About twice as thick material.

RE: Think these'll break? SWAY BAR MOUNT
Holy s@#$!!! They did break! That's three different brackets I've broken on the car.
Okay. . . I admit. . . I drive the corners. . . HARD! But sheesh--I guess I better back off from the 22 MM bar to a 19 or even the 16. It's crazy. |

Good God man!!!! I can drive a car pretty hard, but I haven't broken anything yet. You might be better off welding the bar straight to the car.[sm=smiley5.gif][sm=smiley36.gif]

Solid welded suspension. Like a lawn mower. Could even put those little adjustable handles so I can raise or lower each corner according to my need.
Present plan is to reweld with two passes and then us a longer bolt through both barstock and plate and back up with a nut on the other side to help with clamping force to hold the two together. . . . <sheepishly> Yes I drive VERY hard. When you drive a 150 miles a day you tend to look for things to keep you entertained. no tickets though. |
