Adjust emergency break ?

The emergency break on my 2008 Nitro is not holding. I ask the dealer to check it at the 30,000 mile tune up and she said it would cost me $120 to check it out. I asked if it would be covered under warrantee and she said not if it just needed adjusted.

This seemed strange to me. Are these breaks adjustable? If so shouldn’t it only take 15 minutes? Is it something I could do myself? I have overhauled engines in the past so I have a bit of mechanical knowledge.

Normally this is a simple adjustment requiring a combination wrench. Just follow the cable and you should find it. More than likely at the handle under the center console.

More often than not, I find people have better luck figuring things out when they know how to spell what they're trying to fix. I know I wouldn't want my brakes breaking or anything of that nature.

Ah, you caught me! Just a strange quirk I have. I use the correct spelling if I write with a pen and often the wrong one when I type.

I was involved in a firearm discussion via email with an ACLU dude once and he really got bent out of shape when I typed something about shooting a dear.
