f*$% tires

Last week I had to buy four new tire for my trailer on my way to cedar city. I left today headed to Portland not 45 miles down the road I had a blow out. Luckily I was close to a tire store. Got a new tire and was on my way 10 miles down had another blowout on the other side. That is enough to piss off anyone.[:@][:@]

Damn dude, that sucks!

Time to reevaluate how much weight your hauling, get the right tires (or trailer) and set the proper tire pressure.;)

I think I'd be going back to the original tire store for a discussion with the store manager...

I have had a few trailer tire blowouts on mine. Passenger side wheel is wearing funny, think something is wrong with the axle from the factory. NOTHING annoys me more than having to change a tire on a hot day on the side of the interstate.

There are a few things to consider. Examine your weight and tires. There are a lot of trailer tires that are not rated for much more than 60-65 MPH. I traveld with a guy to AZ and he had 5 blowouts going from Tennessee to Arizona. When we got to Phoenix, there was a place that specialized in alignments on trailers. He had his checked out and it was off. Had the alignment done and and only blew 1 going home. If he had slowed down, he probably would not have blown any, but he was averaging 80-85MPH on a tire that was rated for 65MPH!

My cousin had the same problem last week pulling his skid steer, pulled the week before to help us no problem except for the chevy van he was pulling it with, but we got that fixed and he got a 07 Mega cab CTD 3500.

But then pull with the CTD he blew 2 tires coming a hour an a half up the big road, but then he had the CTD so was moving faster without saying, but he had to go higher rated tires.

The tire shop should know what they are putting on and what rate a speed and ask you enough questions to know what you need.

Now on my 16 foot enclosed trailer it came with goodyears, but the sidewalls where to thin for me, I was in tight neighbor hood with trucks parked all over and if I hit a curb it would flaten the tire, I switched the tires on the passenger side to Kelly's and never had a problem after that

Even if it came with 8 ply it would not be a bad idea to go to 10 ply. As everone said check your weight and also your tire PSI.
