Manifold

Just looking at this manifold from BD thinking of insatlling one. Theyclaim it will spool up your turbo faster, Any one have a different manifold installed? Feedback appreciated.

Thanks

it might flow better because of how it's made but, I doubt you'd notice a thing in spool up. I would say if anything, it would help with EGT's ( not much ) because it's a little easier for the exhaust to move out.

Stock manifolds are known to crack because of their one piece design. The aftermarkets avoid this by being either two or three piece.

By just doing the manifold, you won't notice much. If you were to do several things and have the hp behind it all, then you may notice something but even then, likely only on a dyno.

I realy wouldnt worry about the manifold untill your past 550-600hp. that is when it would become a choke point just from the exhaust that is produced and you start having EGT issues. now, unless the stocker is cracked, then I would say go ahead and upgrade, but as Triton would say, you wouldnt notice any difference.

are you talking about the exhaust or intake? I have an ATS intake and like it... noticed a bump in power down low @ low boost...

that's a good question Steve.... did think about that. I stand by what i said about the exhaust and it goes for intake too. IMO it doesn't do much for you for the cost unless like Drew mention... you have lots of hp

RE: Manifold

it is little gains compared to other mods, however my butt dyno says it was worth it... I like mine and wont be getting rid of it anytime soon...

Not an ATS or intake thread but I agree.

The ATS is / was a noticable mod and def. one of those I'm most pleased with. Felt it in the seat and in the spool up as well.

As far as the ex. manifold goes I was thinking about it as well but decided on spending that on fuel upgrades instead.

It was the exhaust manifold, Thanks all for the feed back.

I have an ATS exhuast manifold. Similiar to BD, but ATS is powder coated. No real big gains/difference other than 50* difference in my EGT. My stocker had a couple of cracks in it.
