Default RE: stacking??

the concept of stacking is useing two or more chips or a programmer and a chip to turn even more power from the engine.

some chips use all pressure to increase power. this is good for low end responce that timeing duration boxes tend to lack. but you have to be carefull and choose the stack carefull. you dont want to add a timeing box onto a box that already increases timeing, or a pressure box onto a box that increases pressure as well.

Most people that stack will take a programmer (smarty, bully dog, PPE, what have you) and stack it with a chip that is adjustable on the fly(TST, Edge, MP8, quadzilla). you would use the programmer to make most of the power gains, then use the box to tweak things to get even more out of the engine.

when you are doing this you have to be carefull to keep an eye on EGT and boost. either one gets to high you'll blow something.

Yes, I have stacked my truck in the past, TST and smarty. all I can say is WOW. I was able to do 3rd gear brake stands with ease. throttle responce was on par with a gasser and turbo lag was virtualy non existant. however things were getting quite warm EGT wise however my boost numbers were in check since my TST has a boost limit function.

hope that helps a bit.

Hey Drew, when you were talking about bully dog just being a programmer, well I have the triple dog with the outlook monitor and both are adjustable on the fly. So, with that capability and the outlook being plugged into the ecm constant, what are my options for stacking, i cant get this one figured out.

you can stack edge, TST, quadzilla, van aakien or an MP8 with that.

those chips mostly use the crank, cam, injectors, map, rail pressure, CP3, and ECM connectors.
