HyTec's are in
A few weeks ago the magic UPS man made a delivery and well life has just prevented us from getting to the shop any sooner. So front / read diff & tranny pans are now on :D:D all filled w/ Royal Purple.
Can I just say WOW my tranny has never been happier. Had a so-so shift from 2nd to 3rd for the longest time and it is soooo much smoother now. Didn't have any problems (other than apparently I put the washers on upside down :)) and the diff fluid really could use a starter tab on the seal :D http://lh6.google.com/lilfroger/R-7r...CN2721.JPG.jpg http://lh4.google.com/lilfroger/R-7r...CN2730.JPG.jpg http://lh3.google.com/lilfroger/R-7r...CN2723.JPG.jpg (put the sending unit in for the tranny temp gauge - should get to those next week) http://lh4.google.com/lilfroger/R-7r...CN2732.JPG.jpg |
RE: HyTec's are in
Be careful, I knew a guy who put his washers upside down and popped his motor! But then again he used a left handed wrench, when clearly, a right handed wrench was called for. :)
Why did you choose to read the temp in the pan, as opposed to the output line to the cooler? By-the-way... LOOKS NICE! |
RE: HyTec's are in
Looks good froger!

Conical washers?
Good looking rearend there frogger;). |
RE: HyTec's are in
nice looking pans... if you had an Edge A2 monitor, you wouldn't need the tranny temp gauge.. the A2 reads it from the OBDII, don't know where it takes the reading from, but it gives me the numbers!!

They look great !! That's cheating thought taking it to a shop to have it done. :D
You guy's are pretty sweet on that Royal Purple stuf huh? |
RE: HyTec's are in
did you adjust your tranny bands while you were in there?
|
RE: HyTec's are in
I didn't take it to a shop per-say....they hubby just happens to have access to a full shop. So we just roll up in there on Saturday's when they are closed :D:D
Yes the lift was VERY helpful for doing the pans and fluids. Tranny is a bit young to worry about re-banding yet. I'm not ready to build it up (yet ;)). |
RE: HyTec's are in
OK I am really in love w/ the Royal Purple now :D:D
Was running through town up a road that has a monster hill. I'm not sure of the grade but it is up there. Normally when I get stuck at the light and step off the break the truck just holds or even sometimes rolls backwards (it's an auto). Today I stepped off the brake and it immediately started rolling forward! |

The temperature readings are used to control engagement of the fourth gear overdrive clutch, the converter clutch, and governor pressure. Normal resistance value for the thermistor at room temperature is approximately 2000 ohms. The thermistor is part of the governor pressure sensor assembly (2) (govenor pressure sensor) and is immersed in transmission fluid at all times.
