Default Uh Oh G56 fluid change reveals metal!!!

So I changed my transmission fluid and transfer case fluid today. I ended up going back with OE Mopar ATF+4. I found it at Wally World for $4.42 / quart. Any way when I dumped the trans the plug has a little magnet in it. The little magnet had shavings and sludge stuck to it. The magnet is about 1/4 inch in diameter and with all the stuff stuck to it, it was about 7/16 inch in diameter. The fluid was a little dark but not too bad. Don't ask how it smelled, cause my nose doesn't work, I can't smell a thing. Any one here ever change their G56 fluid out? What did you find on the plug?

BTW, the Mopar ATF+4 said it was a full synthetic fluid. I didn't know that.

sounds like machineing and burrs that were left on the gears.

I'd realy be worried if you had the same on the next change.

I may dump it again in 10K miles to see what's there. I'm hoping you are right about the manufacturing debris, although most manufacturers now ( I call on a lot of them) are very **** about cleanliness. I guess time will tell.

A few bits and shavings would be normal IMO. That baby is working pretty hard pulling that beast of a camper of yours. At 60k I would expect to see a little wear. Like Drew said, the real test will be on the next change.

Im leavin out b4 the chickens come out of the trees. And on the muffler, I have been studying that thing for a while. Pulling that gooseneck the exhaust already echoes pretty load on the hwy. I am afraid I would have to wear ear plugs when Im loaded down.[:@]

If I were you I would do the muffler like mine instead of the delete pipe. I pull my camper and there is no more drone than stock.

BTW, the Mopar ATF+4 said it was a full synthetic fluid. I didn't know that.
Mopar ATF is not 100% synthetic fluid as if it was you would have paid a lot more for it then $4.42. You would be lucky if the Mopar ATF you bought contained 12% synthetic base fluids. FYI, in the Mobil Castrol lawsuit a Judge ruled that the word synthetic is just a marketing term. Remember that just because it can be called synthetic does not mean its 100% group 4 or 5 synthetic fluid like you buy from Redline or Amsoil.
