Hey MAYFAIR! Guess what I broke yesterday!!!!!!
Hello all my DF friends. Hope everyones rides are runnin well. Quick story for ya.
Yesterday, I turn right at this intersection and start up a hill. I'm on the throttle a little bit, not like I usually am. The light on my Commander comes on, tc locks up, and all of a sudden, a small "bang". Engine revs, I pull over.
I get out, no fluid, no hanging driveshaft. I knew it in my head that it was internal. I especially knew it was the tranny input shaft......lol. Been reading a couple articles on our shafts failing at anything above stock hp/tq.
Truck gets flatbeded to the tranny guy. He just laughs every time my truck shows up. He's a great guy and has a KILLER tranny shop. Sixty three years their family has had their business. Truck got to his shop at 1:15pm, Monday. He calls me at 3:30 yesterdayto confirm the shaft had sheared off all the splines in the drum assembly.
Time to shop at ATS!!!!!!!
Bought their billet input shaft/drum assembly and had it overnighted. Truck was back together and in my arms at 4:30 this afternoon.
I told Mayfair this was his lesson for today:
Overnight shipping - $143.00ATS billet input shaft - $810.00Labor,system flush, filter, gasket, and 5 gallons of tranny fluid - $865.00The beating that the truck got when I left the shop...................................................................PRICELESS!Down time is something we all hate. I love my tranny man and ATS Diesel!!!!!.........................LOL.Anyway, hello to all of you and will catch ya later.Aj
