I'm back

got back earlier on this afternoon. . .beasty did good on fuel. . .averaged 18.2mpg the whole time. smarty load #2 and TST on 2/1. I ran half the trip there on the economy mode but noticed the timeing was pretty advanced and heard it, but wasnt bad, changed over to the standard program and all was good.

anyway, I was tearing up the Crappy, Bass, and Blue Gill, with the father in law was catching all the catfish. now I still brought in a few, but had to throw some back.

now with a few teaser pics.:D

Nice! We're slammin' walleye right now. Haven't been out lately due to bad family problems, but should be able to get the boat in the water very soon. Got a 14' rowboat and a quad cab dually, hope I can get it out of the ramp.....

right now the wife and I are contemplating getting a little boat for some fishing. nothing big, probably just a tolling motor and a 5hp outboard on the lakes that allow it.

the resivoir is just down the road frm my house. . .been wanting to go that way, this week just gave me and the wife motivation.

only thing is she enjoys catching them, she just doesnt eat fish. . . .more for me:D

could have been better. . .we could only keep the catfish if they were under 20" and 5lbs[:@]

Lorie and I were pulling them in 24-28" and 8-10lbs, thats some good eating there:(

Well as far as I can tell, it was lack of maintenance (no codes, no critical events). I dont think the overhead had been run in a long time. Had one injector with a broken spring (different cylinder). I thought it was just gonna be the one cylinder pack, but after pulling the liner, electolysis had taken its toll ( no dca in the coolant) and eaten 0.300" into the liner wall. I rolled out a main bearing also and the bearing face was flaking off. Engine only had 400k on it. Both exhaust valve faces broke off and went through the turbo after smashing the injector tip flat and bending both intake valves. Ended up with a total rebuild, new mains, cylinder packs, cylinder head, turbo, water pump, oil pump and injectors (about $16k in parts). I just finished her up today and took her for a 100mile road test and found out that the truck didnt have a top speed governer:D Speedo burried at 85 in 17th gear and I still had one more gear;)

sounds like my old freight shaker with a 14.7 cat. had to make an emergency run to Ft. Campbell and ran the CB all the way up. .. looked down at the speed-o while hauling up 285 and it was at 110, and still had two gears left in OD:D

that thing would pull hard even with a load
