06 with jake and aftermarket exhaust

Hi guys I haven't been around for a while. I just recently traded my 01 3500 for an 06 3500. It has a Jake brake already installed is this factory or ?. It has the Jake brake badges on the doors below the dodge 3500 emblems, and it has the Cummins switch mounted on the shift selector. Will I have any problem w/ aftermarket exhaust? Thanks for the help!! Brian

It probally did not come from the factory with the jake brake, is most likely a Mopar accessory. You should have no problem with the exhaust...

I thought the newer 3500's & up came from the factory with the jake brake.

The 07.5 and newer trucks with the 6.7L come with an EB standard. With the 5.9 you have to order it as an accessory.

I didn't know he had a 5.9, I couldn't remember what year they started the 6.7's.

yea, 6.7's come standerd with an exhaust brake, jakeups brakes are only for the big boys, and same with the aftermarket exhaust, you'll be fine

I have an 06 3500 with a jake, factory installed. The thing worked great 105000 kilometers on the factory original brakes so far.
Anyway, I had my exhaust done last week and suddenly the jake sounds more like a ****ty vacuum cleaner. I am guessing that the vavle isn't shutting off completely but have not had a chance to diagnose the problem.
My question is, does anyone know if the reduce back pressure from deleting the catalytic convertor would be enough to cause this problem? otherwise I am stumped as to what could cause the jake to stop working.

with an open exhaust, the exhaust brake will sound like a big air leak from an air compressor, what you are explaining sounds normal, all an exhaust brake does is plug off the exhaust system, building high pressure in the exhaust manifold, the noise you hear is the higher pressure exhaust pushing past the exhaust brake butterfly
