Smarty Jr
I am considering a Smarty Jr for towing my 10k travel trailer. Has anyone tried this programmer, and how hard is it on the tranny.
Thanks |
More power through a stock transmission while towing heavy = short trans life.
That said, I have not read many complaints about the JR. |
Just from reading around here for the past week, it seems that the Smarty Jr. is the best programmer for stock transmissions. I'm looking into getting one eventually to help with gas mileage and for when i'm towing.

I beleive one would be well served to throw in a set of guages with the smarty jr Good programmer, but should monitor things. Just my opinion and/or advice, which is like a continental breakfast... It's there and free if you want it, but no harm if you don't.

I got the Smarty Jr. for christmas. I have mine on tow mode (70hp) 3 mpg increase and a world of difference in power. Installing dash mounted gauges today. TRANS. EGT. AND BOOST. I have had no problems with JR. Trans was already slipping before JR.. Getting ATS Trans soon.

I have decided to go with the Edge Mileage Max. Claims are 7-10% mpg gain and 30-35 hp.
I am more interested in mpg gain than hp. The price is good, and with the 18 mpg I am getting combined driving, 20mpg combined driving looks great. |
I am running the Smarty SR. only on 60Hp and love it trans temp., exhaust gas temp., fuel pressure are all good. I like the accelerator pedal response at low starting speeds. I also gained about 2 mpg.
