unsure about 6.7L cummins
 

Hey I am looking to buy a 2010 2500 with a 6.7 but I am unsure about the mileage. I absolutely love the truck and would like to get 18+ mpg 20+ would be better. What I can do to improve the mileage. I am running a F-250 5.4l right now and hate the truck it is mechanically sound but ride terrible and only get 6.5-7.5 mpg pulling my holiday trailer. Any input on the 6.7 mileage and any improvents that i could make without voiding the warrantee would be great

As soon as you do ANYTHING that's going to improve mileage, you are going to void your warranty. Most people have been reporting somewhere between 12-16 MPG's with the 6.7. Doing the EGR and DPF deletes can add about 2-5 MPG's, but your warranty is gone if you do them.

I just drove my 2010 2500 megacab 4x4 6.7 w/ 6 speed 400 miles one way to new orleans thursday. At an average speed of 74 mph there it got right at 17 mpg. On the way back I ran close to 78 mph average but up to about 90 at times at average 16 mph. Not bad with only having 2600 miles on the truck now and also 3.73 gears. Haven't pulled anything long term yet so cannot discuss pulling fuel mileage.

thats not too bad for mileage I talked to the dealership and they told me that I'm ok with a cold air intake and a chip as long as hey sell it to me they will warranty any problems. On the flip side they might just be trying to sell me stuff. lol

Had a 08 mega cab (4wd) with 6.7 and I averaged 15-18.5 mpg driving 75 to 83 mph on mostly less than flat terrain. When pulling a trailer averaged between 10-13 mpg depending on terrain and speed. Fuel mileage range came after installing cold air intake (Cai), cat back exhaust, and tuner. Cai or cat back doesn't have to be bought at dealership as they are still required to cover truck under bumper to bumper warranty or engine warranty so long as it's not an issue caused by aftermarket product. My tuner I always reset to stock when bringing into dealership for work.

I ended up buying the truck. Gonna bite the bullet and see what happens. My ford 5.4 only got 14 on the highway and any where between 6-8 pulling my holiday trailer( depending on which way the wind was blowing) so I guess it can't be any worse.
