What shocks should I use.

My pick up is a 2500 1998 24 valve cummins 4x4 manual transmission. I am looking at KYB monomax shocks for the front (will be getting them from rockauto). Would these be stiff enough or would they be too stiff. The roads I drive on demand stiff shocks. On my brothers 2001 3500 cummins motor 2 wd we used the KYB monomax on the rear. We are very happy with the monomax on the rear as they are good and stiff but would they be too stiff on the front?:icon_couchhide:
Thanks in advance for your opion.
