get a DPF/EGR delete programmer, delete the DPF, EGR, and cat, and she'll run like a top.

Sell it if he can. It will be cheaper in the long run. They have never been able to fix mine.

the old 24v's even though they have been given a bad name by people who have not kept proper fuel pressure to the injection pumps, seem to be the only ones reaching mileage worthy of the record books.

there are quite a few 24v vp44 motors running around now with well over 1 million miles on them.. one of them when last checked a few years ago was over 1.7 million miles and counting. I'm sure he is over 2 million miles by now and he still has not had to rebuild the motor or transmission or rear ends..runs synthetic oils in all parts of the truck.

I am having trouble with my 07 dodge 3500 6.7 cummins. It quit going down the road.we put a fuel pump in tank and get it running on either drop below 1800 rpm and it dies out. It will run without either above 1800 rpm not below

Sounds like your EGR, VGT, and/or DPF are clogged.

Ricklane0310,

Sorry to hear about your concerns. When was the last time you were at a Dodge dealer? Do you know if there are any outstanding recalls for your Ram?

If you'd like me to review this for you feel free to PM me or you check for recalls at the link I've added.

I hope this helps.

Default Never had a problem with my 07 6.7

stock 07 6.7 Cummings with 115k miles and the only thing i replaced is tires and ball joints and of course oil, I do off road in it. I do take it on long road trips hauling big trailers, And i also let it idle for 6-8 hours wile I sleep in it, time to time....even starts up in -25 temp with out being plugged in with no problem

Default cant idle for extended periods?

I work in the oil field and all our company trucks are ford and dodge 6.7l's. We idle these things all day every day and ive never scene any of these problems described in this thread. We were on a 24 hr job and I **** you not this guy let his idle for 4 days straight. He just kept filling the tank with diesel. Seriously 4 days with a 2012 3500 cummins, then after the job was finished, he drove 5 hrs home at 85 mph and nothing bad happened. I see guys with newer fords idling thru 12 hr days and have yet to see one break down or go into limp mode. I personally have a 02 powerstroke 7.3 and I idle it for about 5 hrs a day when im out at work in 110 degree texas heat , I have 356000 miles on the truck and dont have problems. Maybe we all just have dumb luck, but I think diesels are made to idle( except for the 5.9s) I hear you burn up oil pumps if they go too long.
