so under what temp to you say to plug it in.....i live in asheville and only have some cold nights about 10 times a year but is good to know when to plug it in?

NC, as you said... it's doesn't get cold for long in Asheville. The block heater is really for sub zero temps. Your truck will start easy enough at the temps we see around here. I've got into the habit of plugging mine in when it's in the 20's. The only reason for that is, it not only starts easier butu, it will get up to running temps quicker too.

I plug in for anything near freezing - - mainly for the windshield effect we stay pretty wet around here so when ever it gets cold I get ice. The tuck comes up to temp so much faster between that and the jake brake.

I've got to stop talking about this - - I hate the summers I need some cold weather...you guys are making me want to move even farther north.
