Default vp 44

hey guys I think my vp44 is going out, my edge module reads around 11-12 psi when just cruising around and with my foot almost 3/4 of the way down it reads about 5-6 psi and with it all the way down it goes down to 3 psi, does this sound like its going out? Also I have been looking into a fass, where is the cheapest place I can get one? also how much would it cost to have it installed? thnx for any info

if you get your lift pump changed out now you will save your VP44. google Kens performance, or diesel nut motorsports. there are others as well with some good deals on the FASS pump. also check out Glacier Diesel Performance and their walbro kits.

a FASS kit can run as much as $4-500 and the walbro is around $300 or so not incluting instalation.

right now your ok. . .you still have good pressure however keep an eye on it. . .when you hit 5-6psi cruising you need to change it out. it would be good to go ahead and do it so you wouldnt have to worry about it completely failing on you. now if it does fail and your truck runs rough/stalls. . .dont start the engine. even though the VP44 ran without fuel for a bit you are still ok. it is the repeated cranking and running that will kill it.

The installation of the FASS isn't really that difficult. If I can do it, anyone can. If you take it to a shop though, it's probably at least a 4 hour job, so with labor rates hovering around the 75.00 and hour rate, it could get pricey.

FASS much like other companies ( Edge ect ) is starting the "One Price for all" thing meaning that everyone is supposed to sell it at the same price otherwise they stand the chance of loosing their dealership. I got mine at Ken's, he's a cool cat and he'll hook you up.

Here ya go ...
