Default Pain in the back seats

I had a 99 CTD and the seats were great. The 06 seats are not the same. I just can't find a comfortable position on long trips. They must have changed the foam or configuration of the seats some where. Anyone else have problems and what did you do to help.

You can take it to an upholstery shop and ad more cushion. I used to do this kind of work and it should not be to expensive. I gotta say that the 3rd generation Dodges are not the most desireable to sit in, but the only other option is a ford and the engine is a piece, and the mpg's bite pretty hard. My 04 is not that bad ,but it is cloth. It sits a lot better than my buddies 03 with leather. Good Luck and find a reputable upholstery shop.

My wife and I think the seats just fine even after 33+ hours setting in them for my engine break in drive.

This is the first time I've heard someone happy with seats in a 2nd gen. Usually people complain about the seats crushing.

I have to say that my 04 is comfortable, especially nice on cold mornings with heat, oh I love that little button on the dash.

I get along with these seats, even though my CTD is a roughter ride than my DAK, I had no back problems from the seatsafter a 10 hour trip.

I like the fact it shaved an hour off the trip as I only had to stop for fuel once, instead of 3 times, the DAK had a 21 gallon tank

Check out this link: http://www.innertruck.com/3rdgenfrontseatfix/

I forget who posted this way back when but I did this last summer with my seats and it helped a lot. Still doesn't make them as comfortable as some of the earlier Ram seats were, but every little bit helped.

You may want to have a helper for this. It was much easier to have someone pressing the padding/grid down while I stretched the springs back into place.

Methos, Thanks much. That is exactly what is happening to my right leg. Did you put in the two inches that was recommended?

That's a cool link. I've heard before about putting carpet in there but I think this is the first time I've seen pics of it.

Thanks !!
