Question Killer Dowel Pin

Ive Been hearing alot about The "Killer Dowel Pin" alot of people have suggested I get it replaced since im about to roll over 350km, how much would that job cost to do? and is it really as common as I hear or is it just a scary story to tell around the fire at nite?

my friends cummins dropped his dowel pin and it cost him 3grand to get his rig going again,

thanks,

Ask yourself this.........

"Do I want a $1 steel pin to work its way through this?......"

Yes, it's a real issue.

Its actually a tab that is bolted next to the pin, and goes over the pin, holding it in place
