Default Dash conversion

So I just traded my 1998 ram 1500 5.2 for a 1997 dodge ram 2500 12v and I hate the dash and cup holder location so my question is is it possible to convert from a 97 Dash to a 98 Dash getting the parts will be no issue but will all the necessary things be there to do it

Not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure to get everything to work you'll need to find a dash harness and gauge cluster out of a 98 12v truck. 98 was the first year of the new dash and the year they switched from the 12v to the 24v. So you would need a harness and cluster from a 12v 98. But the issue would be they are usually hard to come by and expensive when people know what they have. Because they are also needed when people 12v swap their newer 2nd gens.
Maybe a short term fix for the cup holder issue is one of the center console cupholders from genos garage. I have one and love it.
