Drew: How about a DIY on the rear Diff??

RE: Drew: How about a DIY on the rear Diff??
C clips would be on smaller axles. Are's are full floating axles which mean the axle shaft doesn't support any weight which don't have c clips to hold the axles in. I like the reusable gaskets, but I find they have a tendancy to seep more when compared to paper gasket or silicone.

I dont know how in the world I missed this thread back in December[&:]
Dean, if you remove the c-clips you'll be watching your rear tires get farther and farther away from their present possition, then you'll noice you'll be in free reving stage followd by a nice spark show as the rear of the truck makes contact with the asphalt

For the gasket maker, how long do you let it set before you can use it. I mean I got the permatex "Ultra Black" (maximum oil resistance)at my local parts store. On the back it says Silicone drys in 1hr, full cure in 24. How long do I have to wait before I can add fluid and drive? The 1 hour or 24 hours? The write up that links to another page lets his sit for 2 -3 hours.
Thanks in advance,
