RE: For those thinking of flashing their PCM....
I am waiting for a flash in this format. Is there a vendor for the SRT-10 that does this? SCT's LIVEWIRE Live Wire is the most advanced custom tuning device for performance car, truck and diesel applications. LIVEWIRE is a pre-programmed and custom tunable PCM flash tuner that arrives pre-loaded with up to three dyno-proven performance tune files, while storing the factory tune! This plug-and-play unit includes 87, 91, 93 octane, and increased fuel economy tune programs for gas-powered vehicles. Diesel tune programs include Performance, Street, Towing, and Jake Brake as applicable. Diesel programs are designed to save fuel, while improving performance. http://www.reinhartautomotive.com/livewire1.jpg Live Wire features also include advanced high-speed data-logging. Now you can data log all of your vehicles PCM parameters and view selected parameters on the large LCD screen or on any Windows-based computer using SCT's Live Link Software application. This hand-held programmer can also be used to read and clear diagnostic trouble codes. It displays the stored code along with a brief definition of the code. Live Wire also includes a built-in real-time instrumentation system that allows you to display up to six different parameters on the LCD screen. The user defines which parameters they want to have on the display and you can also instrument boost or EGT readings via the analog port on the device. Estimated horsepower, torque, 1/4 mile time and 0-60mph time can also be displayed through the instrumentation feature. Other instrumentation features include high-intensity shift light that can be pre-set for any RPM and warning light that can be set to monitor unique parameters. Live Wire can be permanently mounted to the window, dash or used as a hand-held device. The device comes with a removable OBD-II interface cable. Analog and USB cables, along with window mounting kits, can be purchased separately. LIVEWIRE User Adjustable Features: Fuel Adjustment Spark Adjustment Read / Clear OBD-II Trouble Codes Axle Ratio Selection (1999+ Vehicles ONLY. Not applicable for Diesel vehicles) MAF Meter Selection Tire Size Selection Fuel Injector Size Selection Idle RPM Cooling Fan On / Off Temperature Disable Traction Control Automatic Shift Control Instrumentation Parameter Display Shift Light RPM [/align] |
RE: For those thinking of flashing their PCM....
has anyone come up with a device like the SCT's LIVEWIRE for the 05QC

RE: For those thinking of flashing their PCM....
No one seems to make a tuner unit for this vehicle. And I don't really understand why. There has to be enough interest to make a port adapter to make this workable. The dealers can reflash the PCM, whyhaven't any of the vendors on this website? Just thinking out loud, not slamming any vendors on the site.

Roe Racing has the VEC 3.

RE: For those thinking of flashing their PCM....
do you have to wire the vec-3 or is it a plug in device----what are the benifits from it ---

RE: For those thinking of flashing their PCM....
I have never installed one (although may be doing so this winter), but it will require wiring, no "jet chip" here. You then have different programs you can put into it, they arecards. So 1 minute you can be running something like stock, next minute hot rod. The people who install them right run extra wire and mount in the hole under the radio.
Check out www.roeracing.com. Give them a call, they can explain what it does better than me. |
