SRT-10 injector 2,4,6,8,10 not firing

Injectors 2,4,6,8,10 not firing.
ignition/spark is OK.
PCM checked it OK by Viper Store

whats wrong?

2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10

HeyYou 12-29-2018 09:14 AM

Are the injectors getting power? PCM grounds them to fire them. (and I think it fires them in pairs?)

Largecar389 12-29-2018 11:07 PM

Ugghh

so yes, I’ve just checked the injector voltages

the even numbers are now within the same voltages as the odd numbers... between 19.6 and 20.2 volts. Engine was warm- 200 degrees coolant and 165 degrees oil.

Engine does lose power when injector wires are individually disconnected, so it seems they are firing now.

still cannot get coded to erase

Fixed

Aha!
tried the “disconnect reconnect” the battery thing one more time....

and No CODES!!! Yea me!!!

I’m an old school guy when it comes to cars/trucks, when comes to these darn electronic computer everything vehicles I struggle with it..... but, the Viper truck is back to doing what it’s supposed to do.

cheers

I think you need to have a look at your charging system. You should only be seeing around 14 volts at the injectors, engine running.

Same problem..

did you solve the issue? I have cylinders 2/4/6/8/10 all off

Largecar389 02-11-2020 01:03 AM

Solution

Odd number or even number injectors NOT firing—-

if you are showing power getting to the injectors, but injectors not firing

check your grounds. Engine to body, body to frame, etc.

turns out my grounds were bad, therefore injectors on one bank not firing.

pcm checked ok, wiring pcm to injectors ok, coils ok.

grounds not making contact.
clean grounds, all is well.

Thank you for the advice.. the passenger side loom looks close to the headers so I might remove the full harness and check for any damage..

loom removal looks quite a big job?
