I can't figure out why I am misfiring help please !

I have a 1999 v 6 b1500. I'm pulling a code for a random misfire and also misfiring cylinders 1 3 and 5.my fuel pressure is fine when is running I'm going to test it tomorrow first thing in the morning. it has new wires and plugs n a distributor cap. I am at a loss .... please anyone help

I've had this same issue for 3-years now. The only things I have not yet done are replace the head or the distributor. I'm leaning more towards the head since the problem is only on the one side.

I've replace the ECM, pick-up coil, ignition coil, crank sensor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, injectors, intake manifold gaskets, and removed and cleaned out the fuel rail. Nothing has made a difference. So if you happen to get lucky and solve the issue I'd sure like to hear how you did it.

O Damn ill try my beat but I have no desire to change my head! Damn.. well ill keep trying. Will it hurt my engine to keep running it like this? Also its really hard to start in the morning just keeps turning over u think thats the misfire? Or something else

That's a sign of a bad fuel pump.

That's what I thought so I turned the van on the accessorie and unhooked the fuel line and it was pumping good so I thought it was fine? Am I right

It may have the flow but may not have the pressure. These engines want 39-41psi to run correctly. Also hard starting in the morning may mean that the anti flow back valve is not holding pressure in the fuel line overnight.

Which is built into the fuel pump assembly.

So essentially I do need to replace the fuel pump? I was hoping not :icon_frown:

That is correct.

ok i will replace it. now ive been shopping around, can i buy just the fuel pump and replace it inside of the module or do i need to buy the whole fuel pump and module? also are these stock pumps by walbro? i found a good deal on one but its only compatible with the walbro module. thanks again!
