Engine swap?

remove the radiator/grill/radiator support/front bumper/valance/hood/ac compressor (and other parts the book(s) say you need to unhook/disconnect) Take a bobcat with front forks under the exhaust manifolds, and guide it out.
I have only done 2 van engines, and I really don't look forward to doing one again. If I do, I will take most of it apart before trying to pull it out the front again. Would be easier if the top (intake / heads / air box) was all off first. Gives more clearance to wiggle it out.

A gentleman who repaced many van motors Chevy, Ford and Dodges told me Dodges are the easiest because you can remove the passenger seat and
pull it though there.
I did not but you should remove the passenger door, now I really
want to stress I will never do the motor again.
By the way that guy warned me and he himself hates replacing any van
motor he said the only thing worse are motor homes with the engine in the middle.
We are warning before you take the leap because we have done it.
Also you will spend hundreds of dollars to replace parts that are on your van now which will not work with a 318 or 360.
Are you aware of the rear end gearing and if you can use your current tranny? Check the exhaust as well 318 and 360s may not be the same(cat) which could make you fail smog test.
