Public Service Announcement - don't use cheap bearings
Hi all...
Well after 1000 miles after rebuilding my ring, pinion, and axel bearings , one of my brand new pinion bearings and axel bearings went bad.
It was the brand "National"...
use Timken or the Japanese equivalent when you can.
NO CHINESE BEARINGS!
That is all.
Thanks!

Last set of Timken bearings I installed had a 'made in China' lasered onto them.
I'd used them on Duralast rotors and the races which came preinstalled.
They did not mate well, and lasted well less than 10k Miles.
Never use the pre installed races in rotors. Tap them out and use the races that came with the new bearings.
I used SKF bearings last time. My Brembo rotors came with SKF races preinstalled, So I used them, but otherwise, do Not use them unless you are sure they are the same manufacturer.
That is my addendum to this public service announcement.

Same here, got hosed using an off brand. The bearings last less than 300 miles. Ended up jumping over to Rockauto for search of brands and parts. Thus far, 5 years and going well.
The first set last 3 years from NAPA. For some reason the left front inner bearings keep going, even with a new rotor and all the hardware. Thus far it's still going well.
