Driver's side front shock
I have a 2000 Dodge Wagon B3500 that I'm trying to install a new Monroe 555037 Gas-Magnum RV Shock Absorber on the driver's side. How do I tighten the top nut without the rod spinning?

There is a tool made for tightening and loosening shocks that you can get from your local parts store for less than $10.00. You will need a wrench to grip it. the tool will hold the little flattish side of the top of the rod while you tighten the nut on the shock.

I bought the tool, and couldn't get it to fit over the two flat surfaces at the top of the shock. I finally asked advice from a friend. He loaned me a set of Snap-on Crowsfoot wrenches, and they did the job. I attached a small extension bar to the ratchet, and that put me at the right level to tighten the shock nut.
