can't seem to find water leak
 
I have a dodge B350 van with the big 360 engine. I had a bad water pump that was leaking bad so I replaced it plus all the hoses and belts....a two day job! It runs just fine and the coolant does not seem to be leaking....I thought. After a good run the hoses are tight and hard from pressure and it does not seem like it is loosing any water but under the engine there are some small green droplets of water and a small stain of coolant on the driveway. It is about a 12" circle. Not enough to loose the pressure...or that what it seems.
What could be leaking? I thought I tightened all the clamps on the hoses as tight as possible. Do see any coolant on the belts. It is hard to tell since I think some of the coolant droplets I see are from the fan blowing coolant onto engine parts.

If you saw any corrosion on the thermostat housing, then it could be leaking from that hose connection.


Also the housing itself where it connects to the intake leaks often too.

water leak
 
What is weird is that some days there is no leak. At least no drops of coolant on the driveway. I am having to replace the neutral switch on the tranny and will check all the connections then.

Many of the bolts which hold on the WP and timing chain cover penetrate the water jacket, and will leak if a generous amount of sealant is not used on the bolts and allowed to cure before refilling.

At least is is on pre magnum engines.

Mine leaks from these bolts but only makes it to the ground well after engine cool down.

Mine also leaks a bit into my engine oil as evidenced by the sodium and potassium present in a used engine oil analysis.

Lug nuts that are worn
 
I have a 92 dodge van and the lug nuts are worn on the area that meets the wheel holes. They have a tapered cone shape end that goes into the wheel holes. Those holes are worn too. Rather than replace the wheels I was wondering if they make a lug nut that had a wider cone area so they will not pull through the wheel rim holes.

Landyacht318 I think is on the correct track, you recall that you had many different length bolts. Were the bolts returned to the correct holes with sealant on the threads?
