Dash Lights not working...
1994 B150 Window Van, V-6 short-base
Okay. I only have light on the speedo and the fuel gauges. I have changed the bulbs 2x, so, I know it is not that. I have switched the sockets around, so I know it's not THAT. So, i have to assume it's the board on the back of the cluster itself. Does this sound correct? If so, how do I go about getting a new or slightly used replacement? Can I just order that board from somewhere? Or do I need to order the whole cluster? Suggestions? Insight? Thanks in advance! |
Did you first check the fuse panel?
Also, the 1994-1997 dash lights have been a pain for many on the forums here. One person actually put LEDs in to improve seeing the gauges at night. Hope they chime in here. |
Yeah, I did, even though I figured 1 fuse controlled all the lights, and with 2 of them working, it probably wouldn't be a fuse. But I checked em anyway. I think it's the board itself. I've been hearing that because they are like a printed circuit, the area around the lightbulbs tend to burn out. I was hoping someone would have some insight.

I have a '94 with one light (temp) intermittant, but mostly out. I have changed bulbs many times and have come to the conclusion there is a prob on the board itself. Fortunately, I can turn on a blinker to read it if I want to check it.

A burnt/broken dimmer switch will keep the dash lights from illuminating.

But JUST certain ones? Would not that switch affect ALL the dash lights as a whole?
