Runs for a few seconds, shuts down.

A 1998 Dodge 3.9L, 130k miles. Thanks to all prior responses. Still a problem. I was driving along when the engine lost power and would barely run. Shortly after, it cut out all together. Now, it will start and run for about 30 seconds then cut out. There is spark and fuel, and fuel pressure. Battery, starter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, PDC pins, PCM pins, and fuses are all good. Prior to the initial loss of power, the check engine light had been on and off intermittently. I don't know what the CEL light was for. A lot of you guys are pretty good! Any help ?? Thanks to all.

Changed the title to something a bit more descriptive of your problem. Makes searching for things easier when the thread title matches the thread content. Start by pulling the codes and posting the results.

you said your getting fuel? did you actually check the fuel pressure? if not, thats the first thing id do..

how do you know you are getting fuel? I had some goofy issues when my fuel pump was going out.... it worked, most of the time, but lower than 1/3 tank, had problems... like wouldn't run, stuttering, loss of power, barely ran

what was the CEL for?

Check when you click on the battery that the due pump starts up, if it does feel the pressure in the fuel lines to make sure that they aren't soft so you know that you are getting fuel. If you are check for harness behind your dash and under the hood because there is probably a short. It took me 8 hours of pulling the harnesses and inspecting each wire to find the slightest short possible because I had the same issue.

pull the dog house and toss a pressure gauge on the fuel rail
