How to disable automatic door locks
My 2003 3500 door locks automatically lock upon take-off after about 5-10 mph. I found in the owners manual how to enable them, but there is no mention of how to disable them.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. Thanks. |
It may be that the same sequence to enable the auto lock also disables it... have you tried that?
I have that auto lock in my pickup, sometimes annoying because the locks only disengage by pulling the key or God forbid I have to fumble around to manually unlock the doors to let a passenger friend out! Lol |

I The way you do it is strange. I don't remember totally, but it is like on - off - on - off press the lock button then on - off again. This is totally wrong, but it is something like that. LOL |
Thanks for the replies. I found a solution here that worked.
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...tml#post788369 To shut off autolock; enter the truck and close all doors Fasten driver seat belt place key in ignition within 10 seconds, cycle the key from off to on four times ending in the on position, do not start engine. withing 30 seconds, press the driver's door lock switch in the lock direction. a single chime will be heard (if you buckled the seat belt) and it means its disabled. To turn it back on, do the same procedure. If a chime is not heard, it means the program mode was cancelled because you took too long. If multiple chimes are heard it meand you didn't buckle the driver seat belt. |
did not work

you can shut the auto lock off if you have a radio that has a settings button
