Default 2000 Dodge Ram Van 4x4 conversion

Can I simply take parts (front end, driveline, and transfer case) from a donor 2000 ram truck 1500 that is 4x4 and bolt them on to my 2000 dodge ram van 1500? Ive got the 318 motor, not sure which transmission tho. If it's not that simple, can anybody give me a list of what will be needed to turn my van into 4x4, and where to buy parts?

You would need ALL of the front suspension, including the mounts..... I know Quigley used to do conversions on dodge vans, and there are some good pics out there of those. You would also need the trans and t-case from a 4x4. Likely would need to lift the rear as well... to make it sit even remotely level. (I am just not into the 'carolina squat' look.)

Lots of fabrication work involved, including welding...... and getting everything on straight will be fun.

Default Going broke

I'm not worth a cuss when it comes to welding, that's why I was hoping to just unbolt and try to bolt back on.. I'll look into Quigley, I guess when its all done and said I'll be spending about the same with a donor truck instead of just buying a kit... thanks man. I'm new to the dodge Vans, but I'm stubborn and I'll figure them out

A lot of the mounts are welded/riveted. I don't think you can avoid welding...... that, and the 4x4 truck has a real frame, I don't think the van does.... so, appropriate bracing is required.

Default Not gonna weld, nope

I think the chasses are the same. That's why I'm curious if I can just switch stuff over, everything lines up it looks like. Are you sure the mounts and everything aren't the same?
