Supposedly the PCM checked out ok. Ordered the crank sensor just now and pick it up tomorrow. Wish me luck. I’ll let you know the outcome. Fingers crossed!
When it dies and sits for about 1 minute it starts right up.
In your initial post you said, "I coasted into my driveway today and it wouldn't start. I let it sit for 2 hrs and it fired right up."
You're giving us conflicting information which can lead to us giving you incorrect advice.
When it shut down while driving it was in drive and rolled several hundred feet and when I stopped in the driveway I played with the gas pedal while trying to start it. I walked up to the house and took a nap. It started up when I went back down. I assumed I flooded it.
Thank you gentlemen for all of the advice. The Crank Position Sensor fixed my problem!! Took the Van for a 20 mile drive and it ran great, no bumping and no stalling!! I can finally put the dog house back on!!!
Ah, vans.... Yeah, I have an astro that I hate working on. Gotta dig for 20 minutes just to FIND the engine...... not nearly as much room to work as in a full-sized van either.....
I'm back. The CPS helped a little. Also changed the coil and a new set of premium wires. It's not stalling any more but I keep getting multiple misfires on 1 3 and 5. I erased the codes, drive it and within 10 miles I get a little bump and the check engine light comes and multiple misfires. This happens every time I drive. Seems odd that it's just on one bank of the motor.
Get one from the dealer. Dodges just don't seem to care for aftermarket sensors in critical locations.
Another member just had this same problem. Getting misfire codes on 1, 3, and 5. Swapped his aftermarket crank sensor for a mopar unit, and the problem was gone.
