van recovery

what is the strongest point on the rear of a 77 b100 to pull out of the dirt this old girl has sat so long it has sunk to the middle of the wheels the deferential is setting on the dirt .
I go to get her out before the ground freezes I got a lot of dirt moved but I don't want to pull her apart saving her ,,, a am guessing the shackle mounts to the rear .
anybody got a better idea ????

No hitch? I'd be hooking directly to the frame and not something that might get ripped off.

Aren't the vans unibody? So, the "frame" is just bent sheetmetal. Hows the bumper look? Tires aired up? (will they hold air??)

Maybe dig holes so you can put a bottle jack under the front frame horns and rear bumper attachment areas. You could raise it a few inches at a time by doing this. That may allow you to get the vehicle back on its wheels by filling the holes in under the tires with dirt. We do this at work with 4 jacks simultaneously to split 50 ton casings. After we get it up about 6 inches we grab it with the 150 ton crane.

I got it out,, the tires had air in them after 14 years wow! anyway I could only get the chain around the shackle mount it came out with much problem towed it to the yard and cleaned it out
now the fun begins !!!

14 years???? That's gonna be a project. :) Was that also the last time it ran? If so, NONE of the fluids are going to be salvageable..... I wouldn't even consider trying to start it until at least the engine oil, and trans fluid (as much as you can get) were changed.

My bad. I wrongly assumed a van that old would be a truck frame based platform with a van body mounted to it.

it ran every day when she parked it .the only reason it was parked the gal got a more efficient car so yes I will do all the fluids .it looks like there is still water in the radiator so
it doesn't look like anything froze and brook might get lucky here
