Missing Linkage on Blend / Recirculation Door

Hi all,

Working on a 2000 Dodge Ram Van 1500 with the 5.2L V8.

I found an electric motor under the dash on the passenger side behind the glove box. It doesn't seem to be attached to anything. The white plastic arm moves when I turn the temperature control knob from hot to cold. And there's a disconnected metal rod nearby which runs through the firewall to the AC/Heat box under the hood. When I push this rod in, I get heat. When I pull it out, I get cold air (this might be reversed, sorry). Either way, I'm guessing the motor is supposed to push/pull that rod in and out.

Has anyone got a photo of what the linkage between the motor and rod is supposed to look like? Looks like one could do it with duct tape, but as I've got it open, I'd like to do it right.

And is this the blend door or the recirculation door that I'm moving?

Thank you!

Blend door is for temp.

Likely the only place you are going to find the part you need is a junkyard....

Or.... design it with a free 3D cad software and take it to a makerspace nearby to 3D print it?

Pay for shipping and I'd 3D print it for you just for fun. ;)

The part you need is: Clip 4885297AA but it is discontinued. FWIW, it is #16 on the diagram shown here:

Thanks MK - that's a pretty cool offer! Not sure I'm savvy enough to design anything in CAD, but worth a couple hours this weekend. If not, I'm thinking two zip-ties might be in my future.

Thanks Alloro - I tracked down that same diagram, but was hoping I was wrong. Baring some brilliant high-tech approach, this looks like a case for zip-ties and tape. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, for freeware I've used Tinkercad online, but it is less than an intuitive software...

Pick and pull would be my first place to try if they have a 98 and up van. You might also try googling that part number. Someone may have one somewhere nos. Stranger things have happened.

I did not see the diagram in the link, only the p/n. I am desperate to get a drawing/schematic of the linkages and where each hooks up. Is that available?

Sorry all, I thought this was for Caravan, as that's the linkage diagram I need. My bad
