92 stealth r/t doesnt start by ignition switch...HELP
 

ok people. i bought a nice looking 92 RT and it has this problem. well it has a couple problems but...... Anyways the previous owner ghetto rigged this switch up because the ignition switch (key) wont start the car. It has a wire running to the starter and one to the battery. you have to turn the key to the on position and then push this button. He said it was the starter relay thats in the box in the engine compartment. well there wasnt a relay there so i snagged one at a local junkyard and put it in but nothing happened. you still have to turn the key and push the button. i need to get this fixed.

any ideas would be great.

I'd almost bet the previous owner was trying to cure the "click-click-start" phenomenon some of these cars have. http://www.supercar-engineering.com/...Fix/index.html This will give you some idea of what he was trying to cure and maybe you can reverse engineer what he was trying to do to fix it properly.

The ignition switch could be bad too.
