92 TT won't crank when hot?
This is what happens. I drive the car for several short trips, stops and starts, then about the third stop it will not turn over at all. No clicking starter, no relay noise, nothing. All other electrical works but it is as if the clutch safety switch isn't working - but that isn't it. After opening the hood and letting the car sit for 10 minutes it starts just fine. It only does this when it is hot outside and I have made several short trips in a row. I suspect that I have an overheat sensor of some type that is preventing the car from cranking? Any ideas on where to look would be appreciated. Oh, I did have the ECU rebuilt last year but this problem was there prior to it dying. Thanks for any help.

sounds like a loose or frade wire on your starter.the heat exspands the wire making it loose contact

Thanks for the input, I checked the starter thinking along the same lines but that isn't it. I was right about the heat buildup but was looking in the wrong place. It wasn't engine heat but interior heat that was causing the problem. My clutch safety switch would fail when the interior became hot. Leaving the doors open and letting the car cool off inside would let the switch work again! Replaceing it solved the problem and my Stealth is back on the road! I actually found the problem by disconnecting the switch to see what would happen and the car would start all day - go figure that one.
