Default 1992 Dodge Stealth Base, Need Help

About 1 month ago I went to drive my stealth and when I changed gears it rocked back pretty hard and it feels like its starting in 3 gear. Takes so long to speed up and etc. I replaced the tranmssion speed sensors and it did not help. You got any ideas on what I can to do fix it?

It almost sounds like it is in limp mode. See if reseting the ECU helps. Unplug the (-) battery cable for 10 minutes and see if it does not reset itself.

Is this an automatic trans? If it is I had a 91 Dodge Spirit with the overdrive tranny and it did the very same thing. Do what The Stealth says. This fixed the problem and it was trouble free from then on.

I installed new speed sensors so the battery was unplugged for days. Any other suggestions? A mechanic said I could buy a new transmission computer chip and that might help.

I think a TC rebuild is between 200 and 300. You won't have to drive their, remove yours, mail it to them (with insurance), they repair it and send it back. There is about a 1 week turnaround. They have a vehicle on hand to test it out to make sure it works properly. Give them a call.
